Who are we anyway?
We thought it was about time we gave you a little insight into who’s behind The Petrol Tank Company. So here we are in all our glory. Find out what we do, what each of our favourite bit of our job is and who’s got an interesting trick with a Twix!
Peter
1. What is your role at TPTC?
“I’m Director but I also look after sales at The Petrol Tank Company as well as product development.”
2. What’s your favourite part of the job?
“I think the best thing has to be talking to satisfied customers, it’s always good to know people are happy with their tanks! I also love coming up with new product ideas and seeing where we can take them.”
3. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“Be empathetic - put yourself in someone else’s shoes.”
4. Favourite biccy to dunk?
“Well my favourite biscuit overall has to be oat and treacle, but best for dunking has to be a shortbread finger!” _
- Ultimate dinner party guest and why?_” I’d have to say Sir Roger Moore. Now deceased but such a funny storyteller with no delusions of grandeur.”
Iris
What is your role at TPTC?
” I’m the Office Manager so I follow up on email enquiries and deal with telephone calls, send out quotes, do the accounts and basically keep the office running smoothly!”
2. What’s your favourite part of the job?
“Getting a good response when I answer an enquiry from a prospective customer has to be up there.”
3.What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“An old favourite - treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself.”
4. Favourite biccy to dunk?
“Now this is a difficult one! When I COULD eat biccies, it would have been a good old digestive. I can’t eat them anymore though. “
5.Ultimate dinner party guest and why?
“Another tricky one but I am crazy about Formula One so it would have to be Lewis Hamilton. I’d hopefully be able to talk him into letting me have a spin in his Formula One car but don’t think that would ever happen!”
Brett
1.What is your role at TPTC?
“My roles are pretty varied; I work on new product ideas, tank maintenance and repairs, I do some administration and look after the IT and systems implementation.”
2.What’s your favourite part of the job?
“I’m really keen on good customer service and I do think it sets us apart from anyone else so when we provide good service and get a positive response back it’s a really satisfying aspect of the job. I also love seeing new products make it out. The new tanks we released at the start of the year are something we’re very proud of and they have some true innovation in them.”
3.What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“Without the bitter the sweet isn’t as sweet. You’ve got to go through the rough to appreciate the smooth haven’t you?!”
4.Favourite biccy to dunk?
“Today it’s a Custard Cream kind of day!”
5.Ultimate dinner party guest and why?
“Derren Brown would provide a lot of entertainment, or perhaps Lee Evans.”
Michaela
1.What is your role at TPTC?
“I manage the company social media and support and advise on other marketing activity within the business too.”
2.What’s your favourite part of the job?
“I love creating great looking content for our channels, whether it’s GIFs, video, blog posts or branded photos, it lets me get the creative juices flowing! It’s also lovely getting nice comments about our activity on social, from current clients as well as prospective ones, it’s great when people ‘get’ what you’re doing!”
3.What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“Never forget where you came from. I’m a proud Lancashire lass and grew up with no airs and graces. After moving into a city for uni, I met a lot of people from very different backgrounds but have always been very proud of my working class roots! Another one that any parents amongst you will certainly appreciate is “It too shall pass” with regard baby/small people phases!”
4.Favourite biccy to dunk?
“My favourite biscuit has to be a malted milk but to be honest I’m not much of a dunker! I do love a Twix straw though - bite the ends off a Twix and suck the tea through for a melted caramel, chocolatey moment of magic! Go on, give it a try, you won’t regret it!”
5.Ultimate dinner party guest and why?
“Beyonce, without a doubt. I’d pick her brains on parenting and being a high-flying working mum, and want to know what it’s like being married to Jay Z.”
